Men and women who enjoy reading Sacred Scripture and who are comfortable speaking to the congregation are encouraged to become Ministers of the Word (aka Readers/Lectors). The Ministers of the Word proclaim the First and, or, Second Readings, present the intercessions of the Prayer of the Faithful and may be asked to proclaim the Responsorial Psalm.  Ministers of the Word join in the Procession at the beginning of Mass and the Recession at the conclusion of Mass.

If you are interested in assisting St. Joseph Church as a Minister of the Word and have completed the Sacraments of Initiation and live according to the teachings of the Catholic Church, please contact the Parish Office.  A Training Workshop is required.
