St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church of Pascoag, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Harrisville have combined their Religious Education program.

Volunteer parishioners, who live according to the precepts of the Catholic Church, teach Religious Education classes for our parish children grades 1-10. Classes begin on September 20, 2017 through April 11, 2018. The students need to attend the Good Friday Retreat, it counts for six classes that we need for the total amount of hours required by the Diocese.

Classes are held ever Wednesday evening. Students in grades 1-10, will have class from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in the church hall unless noted on the Religious Education calendar. Classes will begin promptly at their starting time and end at the correct time. There will be no classes on holiday weeks, school vacations and inclement weather. Parent participation helps strengthen the faith life of the child and the entire family.

Classes should not be interrupted unless there is an emergency. Parents wishing to speak with a teacher should schedule an appointment through the Religious Education Office.

If your child has a learning disability, food allergy or other pertinent information that the Teacher and Religious Education Coordinator should be aware of please contact the Religious Education Office. If your child will be absent due to an illness or an emergency please notify the Religious Education office.

Discipline problems will be referred to the Parents, Religious Education Coordinator and Fr. Scott Carpentier, Pastor.

All registered students must attend weekly Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation. This will help strengthen your child’s faith and deepen their spirituality.

Holy Days of Obligation for 2017-2018:

  • Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God – January 1st.
  • Ascension Thursday – May 10th.
  • Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – August 15th
  • All Saints Day – November 1st
  • Immaculate Conception – December 8th
  • Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord – December 25th

In the event of inclement weather WJAR 10 or www.turnto10.com and WPRO 630 AM will broadcast cancellations. If the Superintendent of the Burrillville School Dept. cancels school, there will be no Religious Education classes. Make up classes due to snow cancellation will be April 25, 2018.
